Dear Families,

Let me introduce myself. My name is Lori Young. I am so very excited to be your child’s fourth grade teacher this year! In this packet you will find some information about me, schedules, and other important information about this school year.

Fourth grade is such an important year for so many reasons. The students grow so much this year both academically and socially. Let’s work together to make sure that your child has a wonderful, successful, and positive year of school!

This is my 15th year teaching in Amherst County. I am so excited to be back at Central Elementary School! I had previously taught at Central Elementary for 10 years. I taught in grades 1, 2, 3, and 5 at CES. In 2013 I transferred to Pleasant View Elementary School where I taught kindergarten for 4 years. I attended college at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania where I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. After I graduated in 2001 I spent the next two years doing long term substituting within my local school districts in PA. In 2012 I earned my Master of Education in Differentiated Curriculum and Instruction from Sweet Briar College. I am married with a son, Ruger, who will be in 4th grade at CES also. I also have a daughter, Reese.

I encourage you to please contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns that you may have throughout the year. My contact information is listed below and will be attached to most things that are sent home.

I look forward to all the wonderful memories and great learning we will do together this year!
